Champlain College alum Nick Foss will give the alumni address to on-campus undergraduate students during the 10 AM ceremony on Saturday, May 13.
Foss was born and raised in the city of St. Albans, Vermont where he attended the local high school of Bellows Free Academy. In 2014, Foss graduated from Champlain College’s Stiller School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and a minor in Finance. He now serves as Director of Finance at local transportation company Green Mountain Transit.
Shortly after graduation, Foss began his career at the Vermont State Treasurer’s Office. He worked on the Investments Staff, helping oversee the roughly $4 billion of retirement assets that the Treasurer’s Office is a fiduciary to.
In 2016, Foss was offered a position with the State of Vermont’s Department of Finance & Management, where he served in the State Budget Office division, helping to manage the development of the annual state-wide budget. After four years in state government, Nick moved into the private sector briefly working in wealth management, before stepping into his leadership position at Green Mountain Transit.
In his spare time, Nick spends time with his daughter Emma, and serves on the board of the CFA Society of Vermont and the Vermont Government Finance Officers Association. Foss was part of the Champlain College Single Parents Program and continues to be a strong supporter of the initiative.
