Professional Writing senior Annabel Kusnitz will give the commencement address on behalf of the on-campus undergraduate Class of 2024 during Champlain College’s 10 AM ceremony on Saturday, May 11.
Kusnitz is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Writing and is originally from Woodbridge, CT. A highly involved student, Kusnitz is often seen around campus in a variety of roles. As the Social Media Manager for the Champlain Esports program, Kusnitz helped earn the program top social media accolades on multiple social media platforms.
She has also volunteered for countless events through her work with CHAMP, a student-run organization that plans and hosts exciting and spirit-filled events. Getting her peers involved on campus is her strong suit: she also acted as the Student Engagement Representative in the Student Government Association.
During her time at Champlain, Kusnitz served as an Eco-Rep, encouraging sustainability among her fellow classmates, and welcomed new students as an Orientation Leader. A social and uplifting person at heart, Kusnitz is constantly cheering on her peers and spreading positivity to those around her.
After graduation, Kusnitz is looking forward to entering the marketing and multi-media writing industries and making a difference in her community. She aspires to be a published author who brings joy to readers everywhere.
On the path to “literary greatness,” Kusnitz’s writing and poetry has been published in four literary magazines (including Champlain’s own Willard & Maple) for poetry and fiction. The summer leading into her senior year, she also interned at Living Crue Magazine as a Social Media Coordinator. She has experience in screenwriting, magazine editing, and multi-media writing. Now, she wants to share those thoughts with the world and create works where diverse voices can be heard.
