Champlain College alum Isabel Schonemann ‘22 will give the alumni address to on-campus undergraduate students during the 10 AM ceremony on Saturday, May 11.
Isabel Schonemann is a 2022 graduate of Champlain College’s Broadcast Media Production program, and now works as a multimedia journalist for local Vermont news station ABC22 & FOX44.
Already knowing what she wanted to study before starting her first semester, Schonemann was grateful for Champlain’s Upside-Down Curriculum, which allowed her to jump into hands-on classes right off the bat. Through numerous journalism and video editing classes, Schonemann found a love for finding and reporting on local stories.
For her capstone project, she created a documentary about immigrant-owned businesses aiming to share their home culture in the Burlington area, which won a student production award at the New England Emmys.
Schonemann continues to stay in touch with Champlain since graduating, and believes she would not have the on-air career she has without her Champlain College education.
