Good Morning fabulous CC Staff & Faculty,
As announced earlier this month we will be holding a portion of this year’s traditional undergraduate commencement in person, which means we will be in need of personnel for those commencement ceremonies on Saturday May 15, 2021. To comply with current State of Vermont COVID-19 guidelines we plan to hold two traditional undergraduate ceremonies that day in accordance with numbers of students that have responded that they plan to attend in person.
They are:
● Traditional Undergraduate Commencement A – 10:00 AM (personnel will need to arrive no later than 8:30 AM)
● Traditional Undergraduate Commencement B – 1:00 PM (personnel will need to arrive no later than 11:30 AM)
Commencement is an exciting day for our entire campus family and, while we know it is a very busy time of year for everyone, we are in need of helping hands. Please let me know ASAP if you are available to help that day as well as which of the two (or both) ceremonies you are available to help with. Unlike in the past where staff could sign up for a single task for one ceremony, we are asking people to commit to working an entire session (A or B…or both). We have several positions to fill and once I receive responses we will begin to fill those spots and get back to you with assignments.
PLEASE NOTE: As we get closer to the actual date of commencement we plan to hold TWO briefings. The first will be a meeting of all personnel (via zoom) regarding the venue, roles, logistics, etc. The second briefing will be the morning of the 15th when all personnel meet on campus. Stay tuned for Google calendar invites from Kellie Nadeau or Liza Geduldig as well as more details to come regarding those meetings as we get closer to May 15th.
Finally, employees who are attending in-person commencement are required to test on campus between Monday, 5/10–Wednesday 5/12. The Perry Hall Testing Center will be open 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Please note: The Testing Center will not be open on Thursday 5/13 or Friday 5/14, and tests obtained on these dates off campus are unlikely to be resulted in time for participation in commencement.
If you are not already in Champlain’s testing pool, but will be coming to campus for testing, please fill out the following information:
All employees attending in-person commencement must submit the Daily Health Screen on the day of commencement. As always, if you have any symptoms of COVID or have had any potential exposures, please stay home.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
Best,
Linda Goodrum
